That I write on the blog on the day of treatment and this late at night. It has been a bit of a stinging affair but not nearly as bad as it normally is. Now that is last week and this which is strange.
I'm going to take myself off to bed now and hope that this stays as mild as it is now. What a bit of luck, I was expecting a final reminder of what it can be like. Mercifully it is just a mild one. Phew!

Congrats on completing the course of BCG treatments! That makes you a rare patient, and will certainly improve your changes of things going well. Glad to hear the last two were not so bad with side effects. Dietary changes and mild exercise can help a lot towards that new susceptibility you have to other cancers.
My American plan looks to be much longer term than yours (unless it fails and we move to major surgery). Had 6 treatments to start, then 3 more at 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months, yearly to 6 years, then at 8, 10 and 12 years. So I have a long time to wait before my last one!
Hi Steve
Thanks - I can remember being in your position and thinking will this ever end and suddenly here we are. What is interesting is that your regime was originally what I was going to be on but recently that changed via the European Oncology people. In fact it changed tiwce as I should be having another batch of maintenance next year but they no longer believe that necessary.
My course was CIS (after 2 Turbts) 6 BCG (biopsy = precancerous), 6 more (biopsy - no malignancy), Maintenance 3 for 3 weeks, 3 months off another 3 (biopsy clear), another lot of maintenance as previous timing and this is my last (as long as I am clear). All biopsies were taken 12 weeks after the end of treatment.
A friend of mine is on your regime, he is in his 70s now and he is doing well, he expects to be finished middle of next year as he starts his final batch soon.
I made a lot of changes to my diet early on and exercising is back on the cards now after this last batch and before the operation. I walk a fair distance each day - perhaps 4 miles but I do need to get back onto my cross trainer.
